Our Open House

Our open house was a success! We were able to host (even in our tiny little home) a ton of good friends and family! We loved seeing people from Thomas' mission, from work, old apartment building, etc.

See below for the full post!

Thomas and I are spent time in Aurora, CO with family. We were able to visit the Red Rocks and go to the Hammond's Candy Factory! It was so much fun!

We love spending time with family, relaxing, and eating delicious food! We chowed  down on some delicious chili Thomas' dad made. Yum!

His nephews and niece are the cutest things on earth! They are polite, sweet, and very thoughtful. They are excited to give hugs goodnight and love high fives! Trace even asked politely if he could give me a high five while I was napping. Such a gentleman.

FUNNY STORY! Thomas and I went to bed and around 30 minutes later I was awakened:

"Where's the kid?!"
"What kid?"
"The kid!"
"Are you on drugs? What kid?!"
"The baby!!!"
Whilst throwing the blankets around frantically looking for the mysterious child...

Seriously though. One of THE funniest adventures of sleeping we've had. He's said other things in his sleep, but this currently holds first place! I love my honey!

We traveled back the 10 hours and got home safely. It was wonderful trip full of family and fun!

On the way home we stopped in New Castle for lunch. We went to a 50s Diner and it was so delicious! I was so impressed!

I went to the bathroom and turned on the light. I was completely startled by the men in the bathroom! Luckily, it was just my good friends James and Clint!

Pictures!

New Castle 50s Diner!

It was DIVINE!

Thomas got the salad... hehe!

I got the fries!
LOOK AT THAT CHEESE

Scared the heebie jeebies out of me!
I literally screamed like a little girl!

Then I turned and screamed again while being greeted
by the other man in the bathroom!
Poor guys.

So beautiful.

Here's a little peek of the open house!

For the Heart Shaped mold (Courtesy of my husband! He's so crafty!):
Line the pan with plastic wrap.
Throw in mousse or any other divine dessert.
Freeze.
Let thaw for a few minutes. (I was impatient and set it on the stove burner for a few seconds)
Lift wrap and peel!

I used candy coating chocolate for the squiggle!
I just melted it for 30 seconds at a time, mashing the candies.
If you have some lumps, DON'T heat longer. Just stir until they're evenly melted.
Set a plastic baggie in a cup and pour in melted chocolate.
Snip the end of one corner of the bag and drizzle away!

For this design, I just throw my wrist into circles.
You can't mess something like this up! I promise!
Can you tell it's a heart? Oops...

Special K Bars
Featured recipe below!
The most popular dish!
What could be better than peanut butter butterscotch delciousness?
Not much.

7 Layer Dip
The runner-up!
I got a 5 pound bag of tortilla chips at Costco for $3. You can't beat that!
Find tips on the tomato rose at the bottom!
**Tip! Hide the avocado seed in the middle of the guacamole. It will keep it from turning brown!**
The guac was made from 3 avocados and a splash of lemon juice. That's all you need!

Veggie Platter
Hand cut veggies!
Mmm... Olives...

What is Valentine's Day without candy?
Single Awareness day, but uncool!
Okay people. Metal tins? $1 at Target!
Doilies? $1 for TWENTY at Walmart!

Heart dish from a thrift store.
Awesome.

Partial Table Shot
Pink Fluff on far left!
Dollar store platter made from a candle stick and aluminum platter with kisses!
Cubed cheese (hand cut!)

Lemon Cake with lemon glaze!
With Cool Whip topping.
Drooling.

Thank you for letting us share our lives with y'all! We love you!
