It's a Boy!

Thomas and I are beyond thrilled to be having a baby boy!

I always had a feeling we were having a boy until about two weeks before the ultrasound. One night, I had a very distinct dream that we were having a girl! Every "wives tale" told me girl. I was carrying very high, especially compared to my sisters and mom. Friends even guessed we were having a girl! Even my mom guessed a girl, and she's never wrong!

We told the ultrasound tech that we wanted to guess before she told us the gender. As she pulled it up on the monitor, she said "Do you see it?" That should have been my first clue! I sat there for a second, confused and said "I don't see it..." Thomas, who was recording the whole thing, said "HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT?!" And then the tech pointed the cursor to the little winkie! It was a boy! Silly me!

We were so excited! We got to see baby G for about 30 minutes while she measured his arms, legs, stomach, etc. He was measuring at one pound already! Oh, heavens!

Thomas and I have a nephew that just turned one. Basically, we're set on baby clothes for life! A few people have given us clothes and supplies as well! I just visited Georgia for a couple weeks and friends of my mom were handing me bags of clothes! My mom and I also went shopping for a few little things as well. We are so blessed!

Baby books are my obsession these days! We found a little podunky store that had nice books for $2 and $3! I went crazy! This child will definitely be a reader!

Baby is kicking like crazy all day every day! Sometimes it isn't the most comfortable, but it is comforting. Thomas finally felt him kick a few days before I left town. I was so excited! While I loved feeling it all the time, I wanted him to feel the baby, too!

Thomas and I will move in about two weeks! We are ready to get our little place all ready for baby. Friends have given us cribs and other big items, so this is perfect for us!

It'll be exciting when we buy a house and can start a nursery.

Life for the Grahams has been wonderful! This year has been a crazy one, but wonderful! We are so excited to start the new year in a new little place while we get ready for baby! I cannot believe it's so close! 111 days! AHHH!

Thomas and I are celebrating our two year anniversary this weekend! It's crazy how fast time flies. We are loving every minute of Colorado! Life will change for us in April, but we couldn't be more excited!

Elijah's SVT and Asthma Diagnosis

If you had told me that our goofy little boy, who was blowing up a balloon and watching it launch across the room, would have a cardiac episode just a few hours later, I wouldn't have believed you. In fact, I would have just told you that was impossible and would never happen. At least it could never happen to us. And then it did. On Sunday morning Elijah woke up with a little bit of a cough but was otherwise acting totally silly and normal. His breathing seemed a little labored but it was nothing too concerning. I was vigilant and a little concerned but decided to just keep a close eye on him. I gave him Claritin for his allergies and some cough medicine for his cough. He said he was feeling really hot and wanted to take off his shirt and asked me to rub his back. The Bishop's Wife

In January Thomas was called to serve as the bishop of our local congregation. He is a full time volunteer for the members of our local ward family. He will serve in this position for the next 5 to 7 years. When he was asked to come in for a meeting with one of our local leaders, they made sure I was able to attend. We suspected he would be asked to be the bishop but it wasn't a sure thing. I kind of knew it was coming and Thomas was in slight denial. 😏 They pulled me in first and asked me a few questions about Thomas. I was sooooo tempted to tell them he was a very busy man and that I never ever saw him, but I held my tongue. (Being the bishop can require a lot of time). I know they knew he was an amazing man, but they definitely needed to hear it from me that he was as golden as he seemed.
