Finding Happiness with Loss
Never, in a million years, did I ever expect to share something so personal on such a public platform. Miscarriage, while so heartbreaking, is very much uncomfortable. It's a natural, human reaction to freeze and lose words. You don't know how to respond. Do you hug them? Stay away? Do you say something? Tell a story? Comfort them? Stay silent? Everyone responds differently. When I've heard of friends losing their babies, I was saddened. Whether it was an acquaintance or a best friend, I felt it. Even though I had never experienced a loss until recently, I felt the heartache. It's a terrible feeling that you'd never wish upon anyone. As we've shared our story, I have realized just how common losses are. More than I ever imagined.
