Happy Two Years to Us!

Image
Two years already!  Thomas and I celebrated our two year anniversary this weekend! We were spoiled rotten by our good relative Lee.  We stayed at the Embassy Suites in downtown Denver. It was so nice! There was a huge living room, bathroom, and bedroom. We had a mountain view that was breathtaking! We were surprised with yummy treats when we got there! (They SAVED me when this pregnant woman woke up at  4 am  starving!) We went to a cute little pizza place called Pizza Locale. It was very unique and delicious! I'd seen a special on the Food Network about them, so we had to try it! Yum! Thomas and I explored the 16th Street Mall just a few blocks away. It was really cool to see all of the different people downtown! They had random pianos set up that people were playing. Pretty neat! We got some hot chocolate and explored the different shops. We still had some Christmas shopping to do! Whoops! :) Saturday  night, we went to Mt. Fuji Hibachi gr...

It's a Boy!

Image
Thomas and I are beyond thrilled to be having a baby boy! I always had a feeling we were having a boy until about two weeks before the ultrasound. One night, I had a very distinct dream that we were having a girl! Every "wives tale" told me girl. I was carrying very high, especially compared to my sisters and mom. Friends even guessed we were having a girl! Even my mom guessed a girl, and she's never wrong! We told the ultrasound tech that we wanted to guess before she told us the gender. As she pulled it up on the monitor, she said "Do you see it?" That should have been my first clue! I sat there for a second, confused and said "I don't see it..." Thomas, who was recording the whole thing, said "HOW CAN YOU NOT SEE THAT?!" And then the tech pointed the cursor to the little winkie! It was a boy! Silly me! We were so excited! We got to see baby G for about 30 minutes while she measured his arms, legs, stomach, etc. He ...

We (almost) Bought a House!

Image
Thomas and I are so excited! This has been a year of excitement! We found out we were expecting, up and moved to Colorado on a whim, and now we're buying a house! Eventually! :) We started looking for houses in October. I never realized how much goes into it! I should have known, I guess, but it's a lot! Thomas and I would look at housing websites from time to time when we first got here, but it was always for fun. We knew we wanted to buy a house, but renting was ideal...or so we thought! We'd find a cute house only to discover it was a scam. Seriously, people would send us emails asking us for all  of our information. They were always in Nigeria working as a missionary, but we could always wire them the money! Ha! Sometimes we'd get a kick out of messing with them. That was always a bummer. We found a house we loved and contacted a few realtors. Within a few minutes one of them called us! She is an absolute doll. We met up and talked about the next steps. Sh...

Growing a Human: The Happiness and Hurt

Image
"Making the decision to have a child - it is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." -Elizabeth Stone Now that we've gone public with our exciting news, I want to share with y'all some of my thoughts on growing a human! I was thinking about how blessed we are to be able to create a human.  I know that God has given us this power and ability, but it is so wonderful that we can hold such a special gift!  There is so much more responsibility involved now! (And it won't end from here on out! haha!) I have to think twice before eating certain foods, participating in physical activities, and basically every single thing I do each day.  To literally hold another person's life in my "hands" is so incredible yet so terrifying.  Ever since I was a little girl, I dreamed of being a mother. I was a baby hog. I loved my baby cousins! I loved my water babies. I loved all little kids. So w...

Baby Graham! Coming April 2015!

Image
Friends! We are so  excited to be sharing such exciting news with y'all! This is a dream come true! I wanted to give a little update on the Grahams in Colorado as well as a baby update! Thomas and I have settled in very well. We are living with family while we look for housing. It saves all  of us a lot of money on rent, so that's a blessing. Sometimes things can get wild and crazy, but it's always fun! Thomas is loving his job. He comes home from work (around 11 PM each night...) excited to tell me about the wonderful things he has done. He is working for Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. He is a Health Guide, so he helps people resolve problems one on one. He does research, calls their providers, and takes care of them so they don't have to worry or stress about their medical burdens. I was working at the Plasma Center in Denver for a couple months, but recently left. We decided that the long hours, hour drive one way, and the stresses of the workplace were ...
