Bittersweet Endings and New Beginnings

Thomas and I are excited and sad to be moving to Denver, Colorado. It's definitely bittersweet to say the least.

Thomas got a job offer with Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance. He will be in corporate training. At first, I was a bit intimidated by moving to a new place. We've visited Colorado quite a few times to visit Thomas's family. We love it out there.

A few months ago, we were camping at Green Ridge campgrounds. It was gorgeous! On the way back, we had to stop just to look at all the breathtaking sights of valleys, rivers, and mountains. Jokingly, Thomas said "I don't have to go to Grad school. We could just move here now!" We sat there for a second contemplating, then both said "Nahhh! No way!" All we're sayin' is be careful what you wish for!

With much thought and prayer, we decided to make the move in just a few short months. We leave at the end of August.

The biggest reason I was so on board with the sudden move was my job. There are three different plasma centers in the Denver area alone. I will be transferring to the newest center out there.

I actually got a call today from the center manager at the Denver center. He visited our center in Provo for a little while a few months ago to see how the company worked. I remembered him, but he said he didn't remember me! Oops! He asked me a few questions and then told me about the center. Because they are a fairly new center, they have a lot of new people and not a lot of experience. I am cross trained, meaning I can work in more than one area. I am also a designated trainer in different areas. While he was explaining everything, he mentioned that I will be the most experienced employee there. That was pretty exciting! My original plan was to come in from the bottom and move my way up slowly, but from the sound of it, I'll be one of the big dogs! It's rather exciting but really scary, too. I hope I have a good influence on the employees and that they accept me as a trainer and fellow employee. Hooray for new friends!

When the manager, after his questions, told me "Well, this is a definite yes from me!" I was pretty ecstatic. I am so excited for the transfer!

Enough about me!

Thomas has been really excited about the move and the opportunities it will give us. This position will give him a good opportunity to advance into a managerial position. Pretty exciting!

Grad school is still in the plan. Once he has worked with BXBC for a year, they will pay for Grad school. That was another deciding factor. Too good of an opportunity to pass up!

The organizer is me is really excited about the move! It sounds silly, but I love organizing and cleaning. I already started packing a few boxes and organizing our things. We're even getting rid of a ton of furniture this weekend!

Thomas graduates next week! Our parents will be in town which will be a lot of fun. We've even thought about wrangling them into helping us pack! ;) Shhh!

I've been in Provo since 2009. It's crazy to think that in a couple weeks we'll be saying goodbye! Thomas and I have been trying to do as many fun things as possible while we're still here! I'm sure we'll be back in town from time to time to visit, though.

Until next time, friends! We love you all.
