Lincoln and Abbie Rae

I was so excited to see Lincoln as a big brother, but it was always hard to imagine. Now that Abbie Rae is here, I am more in love than ever! He is so amazing with her. Always wanting to hug her and asks to kiss her. He's also the typical toddler and wants to share his sharp, pointy dinosaurs with her. He's pretty careful with her for the most part, but I definitely don't ever leave them alone in the same room.



Abbie Rae is so sweet. She's more and more awake every day. We had her two week appointment yesterday and our pediatrician was very happy with her progress. She put on 11 ounces in a week! She nurses every 2ish hours during the day and every 3-5 hours at night. I am so excited she's such a good sleeper already. Lincoln didn't sleep very well until I weaned him at 2! Oy.

It's so fun for me to see Thomas with Abbie. One time, years ago, we were day dreaming about babies and I mentioned that I was a tomboy growing up. I told Thomas that I wondered if our future daughter would be a tomboy as well. He said, "No. She will be a princess." I loved it! In just two weeks we've thrown her in lots of pink and lace from head to toe. I'm a little obsessed with head bands. They never crossed my mind in the "list", so I was so excited when I was spoiled with them at my baby shower. Girl will rock one every day! Even if we're just at home hanging out :)





My mom was here for a total of 25 days. She was originally going to fly out closer to my 36 week mark, but we all got spooked with my early labor scares, so we flew her out much earlier. She was so helpful and Lincoln's best buddy. If Lincoln requested eggs or macaroni, she was right there and ready to feed him. She folded all our laundry and did the dishes a hundred times. If I left something upstairs, she was jumping up and grabbing it before I had a chance to whine and groan that I didn't want to go get it. She was amazing.



My dad flew out to join us for a few days. It was really nice to have them in town. And I felt a ittle less guilty for stealing her away for so long! 3 weeks away from her honey is too long. It was so fun for me to watch my mama and daddy snuggle my babies.



Transitioning from one to two has been fairly easy and not as intimidating as I had imagined. But we're only two weeks in and I'm only on my second day riding solo! So stay tuned! Haha. Add a puppy to the mix and you've got a house of crazy!

I also have a little boy that I watch throughout the week. He is Lincoln's best friend. I wanted to bring him back shortly after Abbie joined us because he was already a constant in Lincoln's life. And it helps keep Lincoln out of my hair! I'm still mobile with 3 car seats in my car, so that's nice. I even dragged the boys to Abbie's appointment yesterday and they were great. Snacks and the tablet are my best friend ;)



I'm really loving this mom of two gig. I've dreamed of being a mother since I was a little girl and living that dream has been the best gift imaginable.

Elijah's SVT and Asthma Diagnosis

If you had told me that our goofy little boy, who was blowing up a balloon and watching it launch across the room, would have a cardiac episode just a few hours later, I wouldn't have believed you. In fact, I would have just told you that was impossible and would never happen. At least it could never happen to us. And then it did. On Sunday morning Elijah woke up with a little bit of a cough but was otherwise acting totally silly and normal. His breathing seemed a little labored but it was nothing too concerning. I was vigilant and a little concerned but decided to just keep a close eye on him. I gave him Claritin for his allergies and some cough medicine for his cough. He said he was feeling really hot and wanted to take off his shirt and asked me to rub his back. The Bishop's Wife

In January Thomas was called to serve as the bishop of our local congregation. He is a full time volunteer for the members of our local ward family. He will serve in this position for the next 5 to 7 years. When he was asked to come in for a meeting with one of our local leaders, they made sure I was able to attend. We suspected he would be asked to be the bishop but it wasn't a sure thing. I kind of knew it was coming and Thomas was in slight denial. 😏 They pulled me in first and asked me a few questions about Thomas. I was sooooo tempted to tell them he was a very busy man and that I never ever saw him, but I held my tongue. (Being the bishop can require a lot of time). I know they knew he was an amazing man, but they definitely needed to hear it from me that he was as golden as he seemed.
