Potty Learning with Lincoln: Out and About

Day 3

Potty learning at home is so simple, but what about while out and about? In public?

Tea time on the potty!

When I was first inspired to put Lincoln on the potty, I tested it out the regular toilet first. Surprisingly, he did just fine! The position (knees above hips) gave him the urge to potty. Bravo, kid.

Just today, while visiting family, I nursed Lincoln and put him straight on the potty without any sort of potty seat. Again, he tinkled quickly and with no problem at all. Pretty cool.

Later on my BIL told me that he had a potty seat we could borrow while we were there. Even better!

Except I almost got peed on! Hehehe.

Mama is way too excited and Lincoln is just talking and singing away!

Like I mentioned in previous posts, toys, water cups, singing songs, and talking to him are a great way to keep him happy on the potty. He's still really good at letting me know when he's over it and we take him right off. He's getting better about it and is starting to love it. I have a little step-stool that I sit on right in front of him. What a special bonding time ;)

Even my best friends understand my crazy! <3

I'm not hardcore enough to do this in public toilets just yet. I'm kind of a germaphobe! I'm not as freaked out about toilets in homes as I am about public restrooms. For now.

I can wash Lincoln's hands at home really easily as well. It may be more awkward in public. Wipes will be my go-to in the future, but for now we'll just practice at home.

They have portable potty seats, but I want Lincoln to be really easy-going when it comes to where and how he goes potty. He's already a really laid back kid, so hopefully it stays that way!

Stay tuned for my next post about the experts, skeptics, lectures and Judgy McJudgersons when it comes to our potty learning! ;)
